We invite you to visit the exhibition of photographs by Zoran Rašević Raš, titled “Photographs to Remember,” currently open in the Vaulted Hall – Residence of Princess Ljubica. The exhibition runs from September 12 to 30, 2024, with the official opening held on September 12 at 7:00 PM.

Zoran Rašević Raš, born in 1956 in Belgrade, began his professional photography career in 1989 as a photojournalist for the newspaper Borba. His extensive experience includes work in the media such as Nedeljni Telegraf, Glas, Blic, as well as editorial positions in Reporter, Status, Novi Magazin, and Frankfurtske Vesti. He has collaborated with many renowned agencies, including Reuters, AP, EPA, and Tanjug, and his photographs have appeared in both domestic and international publications such as The Sunday Times, Vreme, NIN, Newsweek, and many others.

Raš is the author of the solo exhibition “Coloured Portraits” at the Progres Gallery and has participated in numerous group exhibitions. In addition to journalistic photography, he has also worked in advertising, fashion, and applied photography.

At the exhibition opening, Branimir Karanović highlighted the significance of Raš’s collection of portraits of fellow photographers, which represents a new approach to portrait photography. With his minimalist approach—focusing on the physiognomy of the photographers and the key photograph in their hands—Raš has succeeded in documenting significant moments and events over recent decades. This approach allows the portrayed artists to be precisely placed in the context of the time and place in which they created their most important works.

At the opening, Zoran Raš expressed his gratitude to his fellow photographers, the Belgrade City Museum for their support, as well as to the Organization of Photographic Authors (OFA) and Ljubiša Tešić for designing the catalogue. OFA is a proud sponsor of this exhibition, supporting Raš’s vision and his contribution to the protection and promotion of photographers’ copyright.

The exhibition is open to visitors every day until September 30, 2024.
